Since Jutexpo's founding in 2002, our factories have had regular ethical audits undertaken. These are derived from the ETI (Ethical Training Initiative) base code.
These ensure that no child labour is involved, all workers are paid decent wages, have safe working conditions and that the factories fulfil environmental standards.
All stages of the production processes are audited - from sourcing raw material to delivery of the final product - and we ensure that all our suppliers adhere to the same codes of practice as ourselves.
Sedex is a global organisation that drives improvements in ethical and responsible business practices across a wide number of industries and sectors.
When we have audits undertaken we upload them to Sedex's secure database. Their system allows their members to access this information as well as other supplier information. We are keen to demonstrate transparency to our customers and happy to provide information surrounding our auditing process. Sedex is a fantastic way to do so as most major retailers are Sedex members.

Product testing forms a large part of the final stage of development for Jutexpo's bags. These are lab tests undertaken by a variety of bodies. Both in house and independently.
We undertake testing on the handles and the bag for their strength with particular attention paid to the seams. The bags are pulled, filled and observed both statically and on the move.
Aside from the quality testing, we also undertake tests as to the safety of our product. We ensure that no formaldehyde is present in our bags or the dyes used.
Over the years, we have developed the testing undertaken on the colourfastness. Bags are subjected to rubbing tests and reports generated.
These tests have been developed in line with customer discussions.
The materials used in our products also undergo testing. This offers us and our customers comfort that the information provided to them is correct, providing an accurate breakdown of fibres used. For example with Juco - this is a blend of Cotton and Jute and our labels reflect the breakdown of the material.
Our Cotton is subject to its own testing and is fully traceable to the source.
We receive reports and each product is certified, offering our customers peace of mind when selling Jutexpo bags.
As well as ensuring that our production process is run efficiently and in keeping with a high standard. Our warehouse runs in accordance with customer expectations.
We ensure that our deliveries comply with delivery standards for each customer and deal with each product on an individual basis as we understand that not all companies require the same information/format in both the delivery and storage of their product.
